"Take my freedom, not my health"..Prisoner blames the prison, not MS, for how far MS has progressed...[CLICK FOR FULL STORY]
"For his role in a drug-fueled, 17-day crime spree across eastern Lancaster County, Robert L. Border would be the first admit he deserves to be locked up.

He and a co-defendant robbed nine convenience stores during a span from December 2004 to January 2005, each time wearing a mask and threatening the clerk with a kitchen knife. All totaled, they netted about $5,000 worth of cash, cigarettes and DVDs.

Just about every dime of his share of the profits went straight into the pocket of his drug dealer. Border is addicted to heroin. He has been since he was 16, he said.

And the rest of his rap sheet -- which includes Year 2000 convictions in Chester County for robbery of a motor vehicle and burglary -- does not help to paint him as a sympathetic character, either.

"I made a lot of horrible mistakes. I can’t change what I did," Border said during an interview at Chester County Prison on Thursday.

Take his freedom, the 25-year-old from Lancaster said, but no one had the right to take away his health.

Last month, a doctor diagnosed Border with a relatively rare form of MS....
